[EN]In intertropical latitudes such as Venezuela with hot humid\udclimates, building envelopes must reduce influence of solar\udradiation, and in these, roofs and windows must receive\udspecial attention.\udVenezuela is also the country with the highest energy\udconsumption per capita in Iberoamérica, much of which is\udgenerated by air conditioning systems in residential buildings,\udand Maracaibo and the surrounding lake basin have some of\udthe highest temperature and humidity values in Venezuela,\udwhich increase energy consumption even more.\udA bioclimatical house for this climate is proposed. This\udbuilding incorporates principles from traditional indigenous,\udcolonial and oil company houses in the Maracaibo lake basin\udto generate a new prototype, called the Fourth House.
